LeBron James yearbook photo, explained: How Michael Jordan comparison sparked fake kindergarten school meme | Sporting News Australia appeared on www.sportingnews.com by Kyle Irving.

LeBron James and Michael Jordan cannot dodge the GOAT comparisons.

Two of the greatest basketball players of all time are used to being pinned against each other. The arguments are typically about stats, rings, impact on the game — you know, serious basketball things.

How many times have you heard, “Jordan is 6-0 in the Finals!” or “He only got there six times, LeBron made it eight years in a row!”?

You can bicker about MVPs, All-Star and All-NBA nods, scoring records and playoff records all you want. It’s unlikely you’ll change someone’s stance on the GOAT debate. That is why the internet continues to find new ways to argue about Jordan and LeBron, even if it’s dissecting their kindergarten yearbook photos.

Have no clue what I’m talking about? The Sporting News will keep you in the loop below.

The LeBron yearbook photo circling the internet is fake.

The picture was photoshopped to make kindergarten LeBron look like a chubby little kid.

The internet has stooped to a new low to attack the Jordan versus LeBron debate.

Why argue about their NBA careers when you can … compare their kindergarten class pictures? Yes, that is what is happening on X, formerly known as Twitter, these days.

A satire account called “Buttcrack Sports” sparked a conversation on X by putting LeBron’s kindergarten class picture next to Jordan’s. The catch: the LeBron picture was photoshopped to make him look chubby, giving Jordan fans fake ammunition.

The post has collected over 6.7 million views, 3,900 retweets and 64,000 likes. See for yourself, and try not to laugh:

It’s certainly possible that James once looked like that, but I’d probably assume it’s more likely that he somehow already looked like a chiseled, near-full-grown adult by the time he was in kindergarten.

Jordan already has his swagger down with the mini-fro and sweater over his collared shirt. LeBron brought his own swag with the overalls, sweater and turtleneck combo.

Which GOAT looked cooler in their class photo? That’s probably going to headline sports talk shows in the offseason.

Just know that if you see chubby kindergarten LeBron on your timeline, the picture was edited.

The photoshopped kindergarten picture of LeBron has gone so viral that you can’t even track down the original one on social media.

If you’re wondering what LeBron actually looked like as a kid, this tongue-in-cheek comparison from X user “@GOATJordan_23” provides a real picture of James at a young age:
