Letters: Donald Trump’s trick; civic engagement appeared on www.reporterherald.com by Reporter-Herald letters.
Trump got his truth out through a trick
What a brilliant trick President Trump played on Nancy Pelosi via Nikki Haley. Three times in a campaign speech, he stated that it was Haley instead of Pelosi: 1) who was in charge of the Capitol security; 2) that she turned down security Trump had offered; and 3) that they destroyed all the evidence. President Trump is good at finding unique ways to get his information delivered to the public, and I believe that is exactly what he did. Especially, since he posted on Trump Social the same three “Trump Truths” the next day and attributed them to Nancy Pelosi.
I believe Nancy Pelosi had responsibility to work with the Capitol Security to ensure everyone at the Capitol was secure, and she didn’t do her job prior to and on Jan. 6. And, I believe all those people who never destroyed anything but were put in jail for just being in the Capitol on Jan. 6 should be released. At least the public learned just how far the “justice” system will go after and get anyone they want. I believe all those unfortunate incidents happened because Nancy Pelosi didn’t fulfill her responsibility.
Don’t be surprised if Pelosi and those who try to get away with lies will try to turn Trump’s trick on Pelosi around and try to make people think Trump has mental issues, when he very cleverly showed us once again how he can find ways to let people learn his truth. I doubt Pelosi and Haley even realize how they were played.

Help me contribute to shaping our democracy
I am writing to share a personal journey that embodies the spirit of democracy and civic engagement. In April 2013, I became a proud U.S. citizen and, on that same day, joined the Democratic Party. Motivated by a desire to actively participate in the political process, I took a significant step by becoming a part of the 2016 Democratic Caucus.
Little did I know that this decision would lead me on an incredible adventure. Following the caucus and the subsequent party assembly process, I was honored to be elected as a national delegate to represent Colorado at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. As an immigrant and first-time voter, this experience was not only a privilege but also a tremendous opportunity to contribute to the democratic process.
Throughout this journey, I had the chance to engage with national and local media, being interviewed by CNN and other international outlets. The Coloradoan even published a report about my journey and experience. I met and interacted with state and national leaders, broadening my understanding of the political landscape.
However, the most rewarding aspect was the chance to represent the voters of Larimer County and their values. It was an honor to be a voice for the community and contribute to shaping the direction of our democracy.
As we approach the 2024 Democratic Caucuses, I extend an invitation to all, especially young and Hispanic voters, to actively participate. My hope is that sharing my story will inspire others to join this democratic journey. Each one of us has the potential to represent our communities and contribute to the democratic ideals we hold dear.
Your participation can make a meaningful impact, just as it did for me. I encourage everyone to embrace this opportunity to shape the future through active civic engagement.
