Lords of the Fallen Confirms Big Feature for Launch appeared on gamerant.com by Game Rant.
Highlights
- Lords of the Fallen, a Souls-like game, will support Nvidia’s DLSS3 and AMD’s FSR3 upscaling technologies on PC, allowing gamers to improve performance without sacrificing graphical fidelity.
- The game is a spiritual successor to the 2014 title and will be released on different platforms and times throughout the day on Steam.
- Players will take on the role of a Dark Crusader in a quest to defeat the resurrected demon God Adyr, with the option for co-op play. Graphically impressive, the game utilizes DLSS and FSR options for PC players, with DLSS exclusive to Nvidia RTX cards and FSR compatible with most modern graphics cards.
Lords of the Fallen, the upcoming Souls-like title from CI Games, will include support for Nvidia’s DLSS3 and AMD’s FSR3 upscaling technologies on PC. This will allow PC gamers with compatible graphics cards to take advantage of options that can make Lords of the Fallen run at higher framerates without compromising too much graphical fidelity.
As a spiritual successor to the 2014 title of the same name, Lords of the Fallen will be released on Friday, October 13 at midnight local time on console, and at different times throughout the day on Steam. Though it is a successor to the 2014 title, it is not considered a direct sequel outright by CI Games and Hexworks. As the latest game to join the ranks of dark Soulsborne games such as Elden Ring and Lies of P, Lords of the Fallen sees the player take up the role of a Dark Crusader as they fight to take down the resurrected demon God Adyr. With nine starting classes and the realms of the living and the dead to explore, Lords of the Fallen players will be able to invite a second player to join in for some co-op action.
Though Lords of the Fallen is graphically impressive, it can be taxing on some systems. However, Nvidia confirmed that the game will utilize options including Nvidia’s DLSS3 to give players options for improving performance on PC. For PC players that have a compatible graphics card such as the Nvidia RTX 4060, both DLSS and FSR options will be available in the Display settings of Lords of the Fallen. In addition, Nvidia DLSS will be able to take advantage of frame generation and Nvidia’s image-sharpening technologies.
In addition, Twitch Partner Lirik confirmed in a recent stream that AMD’s FSR will also be an option for gamers to pick from, but the stream was deleted for unknown reasons. Though DLSS is exclusive to compatible Nvidia RTX graphics cards, AMD’s FSR3 technology is implemented at the software level and can be used by most modern graphics cards. While DLSS is generally considered the preferable technology by gamers, AMD is busy implementing its own frame generation technology on a per-game basis to complement the upscaling that FSR provides. Though time will tell how many games will implement FSR3 in the future, Lords of the Fallen joins Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum on the list of games that do at the time of writing.
The Lords of the Fallen
The Lords of the Fallen is the second release in the Lords of the Fallen universe. This release promises to take place in a sprawling world that’s approximately 5 times the size of the original release, giving players a deeper look into the lore surrounding this dark and gritty land. Players will once again utilize a variety of weapons, skills, and abilities, as they make their way through the release.
ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4090 Trinity OC Edition
The ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4090 Trinity OC Edition is an excellent, well-priced, and balanced offering that offers a limited overclock over stock settings but throws in a trifan cooling system that runs cooler than the founder’s edition while costing exactly the same in terms of MSRP with RGB lighting thrown into the mix.
While Lords of the Fallen is the latest game to release amid a busy October schedule, Soulsborne enthusiasts on PC will at least be able to tweak the experience to their liking. It remains to be seen how Lords of the Fallen will fare with gamers after launch.
Lords of the Fallen launches on Friday, October 13, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
