Man jailed for shooting into a restaurant near Longwood, arrest report says appeared on www.orlandosentinel.com by Amanda Rabines.
The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on Monday who shot multiple rounds through the front door of a restaurant in southwest Seminole County over the weekend, according to an arrest report.
Sunday night, deputies responded to a call regarding a shooting at The Back Porch at 145 Wekiva Springs Road, near Longwood.
According to the report, the suspect, Christopher Nordick, was a customer at the restaurant who was told to leave after bothering other patrons inside.
“[He] walked out and moments later he returned to the front entrance doors and began shooting numerous rounds through the front door of the business,” the arrest report said. “[The incident caused] patrons to fear for their lives and begin to hide and take cover inside the establishment.”
Bob Kealing, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said no one was injured.
Law enforcement officers located Nordick about a mile away from the restaurant with a handgun. According to the arrest report, investigators found 10 shell casings at the scene, which matched those used from Nordick’s located firearm.
Nordick denied shooting into the business. The arrest report said a witness identified him as the shooter.
He faces charges of attempted homicide without premeditation, shooting into an occupied structure, criminal mischief over $1,000 and carrying a concealed firearm without a license.
Nordick is currently being held at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford.
