Martin Scorsese Doesn’t Want to Feel Old, So He Made ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ With Leonardo DiCaprio: “Are you kidding? Comfortable…” – FandomWire appeared on fandomwire.com by FandomWire.
Martin Scorsese has made a lot of blockbusters throughout his career spanning over 5 decades. Most directors make lesser and lesser movies as they grow old but the American director is not showing any signs of slowing down as he is all set to release the movie, Killers of the Flower Moon later this year.

Many big names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone will also be portraying prominent roles in the movie.
Martin Scorsese does not want to sit idle even at the age of 80
Killers of the Flower Moon premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year in May and largely received positive reviews from the viewers. In a press conference at the Cannes Festival, a reporter asked Martin Scorsese about making a twist in the movie and still taking risks at this stage of his career and the director said,
“As far as taking risks at this age–what else can I do? What do they want me to do? ‘Let’s go do something comfortable.’ Are you kidding? Comfortable, like sitting ‘comfortable’ on a set in the heat. You might as well be risking [it]. I don’t mean to be flip about it but is a gamble and we took a chance.”

The Raging Bull director thinks it’s ‘too late‘ for him now
Martin Scorsese appeared for an interview with Deadline last month and was asked does he still have the motivation and energy to make another movie after Killers of the Flower Moon. The legendary director replied,
“Got to. Got to. Yeah. I wish I could take a break for eight weeks and make a film at the same time [laughs]. The whole world has opened up to me, but it’s too late. It’s too late.”
Scorsese was asked by the interviewer what does he mean by that and the director further explained what he meant by ‘it’s too late‘. He said,
“I’m old. I read stuff. I see things. I want to tell stories, and there’s no more time. Kurosawa, when he got his Oscar, when George [Lucas] and Steven [Spielberg] gave it to him, he said, “I’m only now beginning to see the possibility of what cinema could be, and it’s too late.” He was 83. At the time, I said, “What does he mean?” Now I know what he means.”

Killers of the Flower Moon is based on a 2017 non-fiction book of the same name and the plot revolves around a series of murders in Oklahoma in the 1920s. The movie is all set to be released in theatres in October later this year.
