Marvel’s Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man Is Done appeared on thenerdstash.com by The Nerd Stash.
Since Avengers: Endgame, there have been many rumors about Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Back in February 2021, Downey made a comment saying, “alighted, for now, never say never” when comments about his potential MCU return were going around. However, more recently, Jonathan Majors, who plays MCU’s Kang in the recent Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and other upcoming Avengers movies, has expressed how he wants his character and Iron Man to face off at some point.
“I would love to be across from him on screen to see how our philosophies, acting-wise and character-wise, just personally, match up. You know, I find him to be such a fascinating artist, which is why Iron Man is so fascinating. His portrayal of Iron Man is so fascinating and he represents a very clear world view and energy of the Avengers. And I think Kang represents a different era.”
Tony Stark, Iron Man Should Return Nevertheless
We also cannot forget the new Ironheart series coming there also stands as a spin-off to Iron Man. There are many ways that Downey’s character could return, make a cameo, or have a variant, but it just doesn’t seem Marvel has that in the cards. But at the same time, we didn’t know we’d see the two past Spider-Men in No Way Home either.
