Monkeypox vaccines available at 11 clinics in Massachusetts, including Springfield, Worcester and Boston
There are now 11 clinics in Massachusetts offering the monkeypox vaccine, including in Springfield, Worcester and Boston.
The vaccine most commonly used for preventing monkeypox infection is the Jynneos vaccine, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. It requires two shots administered 28 days apart for “maximum effectiveness.”
To receive the Jynneos vaccine, a person has to meet the eligibility requirements, among which are that a person has had interactions with known contacts of monkeypox and if that contact was a sexual partner within the last 14 days, according to DPH.
