Morgan Freeman Again Part of GSPD Oral Board
World famous actor Morgan Freeman, a Fort Morgan resident, took part in the most recent oral board for candidates for police officer positions at the Gulf Shores Police Dept. The interviews were conducted by GSPD command level officers, officers with command rank from another agency and members of the community, including Ole Miss legal studies professor Linda Keena and Freeman. Freeman, a Mississippi native, has participated in past oral boards as well. He is also accliamed as a director, producer and narrator. In 2021, he and Keena donated $1 million to establish the Center of Evidence-Based Policing and Reform at Ole Miss. Participants in the recent oral board also included Sheriff Dan Coverley, Douglas County, Nev, Lt. Joseph Taylor, Chief Ed Delmore, Deputy Chief Dan Netemeyer, Ray Smith and Curt Graff.
