New “Avatar: The Last Airbender” Game For PS4 Accidentally Revealed Via Amazon Japan
I know the recent announcement about that new Avatar: The Last Airbender free-to-play mobile may have left a sour taste in many people’s mouths, myself included. Fortunately, Amazon Japan is here to save the day with a new A:TLA video game. Apparently by pure accident too, no less.
An Actual A:TLA Game at Long Last?!
Amazon Japan has just managed to accidentally reveal the existence of a new Avatar: The Last Airbender game. This new game has the title of Avatar The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance. Amazon Japan doesn’t have much information on the game. Heck, they don’t even have any images of the game’s cover art or any screenshots or promotional images, but here’s what we can glean from it.
Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance will be specifically for the PS4 only. The game has a retail price of ¥8,485, which works out to $63.64 USD, as of this writing. Considering this pricing, it’s likely that this game will end up being $59.99 for its NA release, if that ever happens, although this bit is speculation. The publisher of this game is GameMill Entertainment, which seems to specialize in licensed games like Little League World Series 2022, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, and GI joe: Operation Blackout. Considering that these games got mixed/average to negative reviews though, it doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence about this A:TLA game. Hopefully, this might be a good one. The 15+ age rating at least seems promising, since the game is aimed at older teens.
Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance has a release date of November 8, 2022. This is, of course, the Japanese release date. We have no idea when or if this game will get a NA release date. We’ll just have to hope for such a release date at a later time. Tune in later to find out when we do.
Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance ~ Opinion
I have to admit, this bit of news really made my day. At least, compared to the announcement of Avatar: Generations. You have to admit: the thought of Avatar: The Last Airbender as a free-to-play mobile game isn’t exactly many people’s cup of tea. It’d have to be a very talented developer indeed to make that into a game a lot of people will like.
But Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance fills me with hope and excitement. Sure, the publisher doesn’t really inspire a lot of confidence in me. Heck, we don’t even know what genre this new game is. But! The fact that it’s a console game and isn’t free-to-play fills me with hope. Hope that this will be a good A:TLA game, or at least a decent one. Let’s hope GameMill Entertainment doesn’t let us down here.
