New PS5, PS4 Games Releasing This Week (September 12th – September 16th)
Demons, ninjas, and aliens invade the PlayStation Store this week
There’s a lot to unpack in this week’s PlayStation Store update with some notable releases throughout the week on PS5 and PS4, as well as a long-awaited update for a poorly received remake of a cult classic.
Over on the Nintendo Switch, XIII Remake is finally getting its release on the hybrid console after suffering numerous delays. As we all know, the original XIII Remake release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC was a bit of a disaster, but this week’s release on Switch brings a new update for the PS4 version, too, which has been in development for more than a year. It’s not strictly a new release, but it might be worth giving XIII Remake another look on Tuesday once the update goes live. According to the publisher, Microids, it’s a big update that basically reworks the entire game in every department. A cheap and (hopefully) cheerful “new” game if there’s nothing catching your eye this week.
If you really want a fresh FPS, Metal: Hellsinger looks to be an interesting game with lots of potential with its blend of first-person shooter/rhythm gameplay, and all set within the cheery confines of hell with a suitably heavy metal soundtrack. Sadly, PS4 owners are going to have to sit this one out. The game was originally set to release on both old and new generation consoles, but the developer dropped the last-gen support to focus on the current hardware.
