Parker McCollum Learns To Balance His Busy Schedule And A Peaceful Life At Home In ‘Handle On You’ Music Video appeared on countrynow.com by Country Now.

In his new music video, Parker McCollum gets to show off a few of his favorite things.

Fame has made a firm introduction to Parker McCollum as he continues to build an impressive career within the country music community. However, now that he’s gotten to this point, he’s learned that at the end of the day, when the venues are empty, the stage is silent and the lights aren’t shining so bright, the silence is often booming.

With the release of his single, “Handle On You,” McCollum opened up about a different push-and-pull battle that stemmed from a dark place. At the time it was written, the singer/songwriter was trying to rekindle the flame with his now-wife Hallie Ray Light.

During this period when he was truly sad, he was writing songs that reflected those emotions, and “Handle On You” was one of them.

“I feel like I’ve kind of gotten really good at writing those songs even when life is good,” he previously told Country Now. “There’s still always that little part of me I think that’ll always hurt and that’s kind of where those songs come from.”

This song has achieved great success since its release last year. It currently sits in the Top 15 at Country Radio and has surpassed 80 million global streams to date. Now that it’s had its time to marinate with listeners, McCollum has brought it to life in a new music video.

Directed by Jim Wright, the video shifts the perspective from getting a handle on heartbreak to finding the right balance of maintaining a steady work schedule while also having plenty of time at home with his wife. The footage flips between a behind-the-scenes look at one of McCollum’s shows and some scenic visuals from the countryside.

“Shot half of the video at a sold-out show in my hometown – 20,000 people at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Shot the other half at our Family Ranch in East Texas. Seemed like the perfect opportunity to get to come home and showcase, on-camera, the place I love the most while doing what I love to do the most,” McCollum shared of the clip.

Throughout the vulnerable track, the Texas native sings from the perspective of someone who resorts to alcohol to try and get a grip on losing the one they loved and lost. Now that he has her by his side again, McCollum finds that those lonely feelings are not as present anymore, but there’s a new pain that comes from the nights when they’re apart.

“I love this song and wrote it with my buddy Monty Chriswell and I feel like we really kind of went in a different direction with it from my other songs. Putting this thing on film and giving the viewers a look into my life at home and on the road was an important visual for me to have to go along with the track. So, in short, I love every bit of it and hope the fans dig it.”

Parker McCollum has already announced a slew of tour dates for 2023. He’ll be hitting the road with an impressive group of rising County artists including Corey Kent, Catie Offerman, Larry Fleet, Jackson Dean, Flatland Cavalry, and Texas staple, the Randy Rogers Band.

Beginning in the spring, the singer/songwriter will also serve as a special guest on Morgan Wallen’s One Night At A Time World Tour along with HARDY, Ernest and Bailey Zimmerman
