The strength and resistance of the Ukrainian people will be featured in a special photo exhibit in Rome.
The exhibit, ‘Ukraine, Stories of Resistance,’ is the joint initiative of the Embassies of the United States, Ukraine, and Poland to the Holy See, in partnership with the Polish Institute of Rome.
According to a press release, the exhibit shows the toll Russia’s invasion has taken on ordinary Ukrainians, as the war continues to wage on after more than a year.
The photos, taken by Italian photographer Arianna Arcana and Ukrainian photographer Mikhail Palinchak, illustrate the brutal realities of the war.
The photographers met on a U.S. Department of State International Visitors Leadership Program in 2021, and have been reporting on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine for the past year.
Not only do the moving images showcase the strength, courage, and resistance of the Ukrainian people, but they also remind viewers of the significant toll taken on the nation’s people.
The Ambassadors of Ukraine and Poland to the Holy See, and the Chargé d’affaires of the United States to the Holy See, will give remarks at the opening of the photo exhibit on March 16 at 5:00 p.m. at the Polish Institute of Rome.
