PlayStation Fan Makes Custom PS1 Cases For Persona 5, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and More

PlayStation has quite the legacy behind it when it comes to video games and consoles, including the PlayStation 5. However, there are players who still appreciate the older consoles that came before, like the PlayStation 3 and even the original PlayStation.

Even after all these years, there are PlayStation fans who celebrate the older PlayStation console generations and make their own custom creations inspired by them. Recently, someone shared images of fan-made designs they crafted for a friend of theirs on the PlayStation subreddit. Reddit user ziyad_rahman posted an image of PS1 cases they made for six recent video games that are available on current PlayStation consoles.

The PS1 cases highlight several popular video games, including Persona 5, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Horizon Zero Dawn, and the sequel Horizon: Forbidden West. It also includes cases made for two other video games that are called Moss and Wild Guns Reloaded. The user provided images of the front and back of the custom PS1 game cases to show their work.

The user manages to successfully capture the PS1 game cases as far as designs are concerned. The user doesn’t share how they made the cases, but the cases themselves look close enough to the real things. They have the old PlayStation logo located vertically on the left side of the cases, with the original game cover art left entirely alone. The back sides of the custom cases even have some of the characteristics that players would expect to see on the older PS1 game cases.

The general reception to the custom PS1 game covers was very positive, with many commenters more than impressed with ziyad_rahman’s work. Several Reddit users praised them for making the covers look so authentic and in line with the visual design of PS1 game covers. Also, some commenters pointed out that some of the games, specifically the game Moss and Wild Guns Reloaded, look like they could have been made for the PS1 based on how well their games’ cover art suits the PS1 cases.

When asked if they made more game cases, the user revealed in the comments section that they did and provided a link to PS1 game cases from last year. That time, they specifically made PS1 game cases for FromSoftware video games that they own. This includes Demon’s Souls, the Dark Souls trilogy, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Bloodborne. According to the post, they owned these games digitally, but they made the PS1 cases as a way to express their love for the games
