PlayStation Plus has announced a big change for its Premium tier, following the recent price increases.
The highest tier of Sony’s subscription service allows for cloud streaming of PS4 games, PS3 games and emulated PS1, PS2, and PSP titles played on a PS4. You can stream those games to current and last-gen consoles, PC, phones and tablets, and (with some tinkering) the Steam Deck.
Now it has been announced that PS5 games will be available to stream, although at launch they will only be able to be streamed to PS5 consoles themselves.

These won’t just include PS5 games already available through PS Plus, like Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but also games a player might own digitally that isn’t on PS Plus. Resident Evil 4 Remake and Dead Island 2 are listed as examples.
Game Trials, which are essentially demos that last an hour or two, will also be available to stream for the first time, saving you a hefty download for a game you’re only able to try for a little bit.

Not only that, the options for what you can do with streamed games will be massively improved for PS5 games. This includes resolution options up to 4K with HDR, and up to 7.1 surround sound audio and 3D audio.
You’ll also be able to, for the first time, take screenshots and record up to three minutes of video of a streamed game, and access purchased DLC through the cloud.
There are plans to add hundreds of PS5 titles to the streaming library and to allow PS5 games to be streamed to other devices.
PS5 game streaming comes to Japan on October 17, Europe on October 23, and North America on October 30.
