Pope Francis holds a private audience with the President of Slovakia, Zuzana ?aputová, and discusses the global impact of the war in Ukraine.

On Saturday, Pope Francis received in audience the President of Slovakia, Ms. Zuzana ?aputová.
A statement issued by the Holy See Press Office after the meeting said the two leaders held “cordial” talks which focused on the bilateral relations existing between the Holy See and the Slovak Republic, as well as the role of the Church in the Slovak society.
The Pope and the President also discussed the Russian invasion of Ukraine and its worldwide impact.
“The war in Ukraine and its regional and international impact were discussed in depth, with a focus on the humanitarian situation, the reception of refugees and the socio-economic crisis,” according to the statement.
