Severe Fog Disrupts Flights to Delhi, International Flights Diverted to Jaipur | – Times of India | CPT PPP Coverage

Jaipur: Poor visibility in National Capital Region on Monday forced diversion of 13 New Delhi-bound flights, including three international ones from Paris, Washington and Dubai, to Jaipur airport. The domestic diversions included flights from Indore, Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Dharamshala, and Vijayawada. The flights began going back to Delhi post noon as visibility improved in Delhi, said officials.
Meanwhile, passengers had to suffer as the flights were grounded for a couple of hours and they were stuck inside the aircraft. Vikram Sharma, a passenger on a Bengaluru-Delhi flight, posted on social media, “Passengers of AI2810 are stranded at Jaipur airport after the flight was diverted from Delhi… It’s been 4 hours and no updates at all…”
Giridhara Upadhyaya, father of a passenger on the Paris-Delhi flight, took to social media to complain, “My daughter was supposed to land in Bengaluru this evening (Monday) on the Paris-Delhi-Bengaluru flight but she is stranded in Jaipur after the flight diversion. Now, the airlines wants to send her to Delhi by road and she has to make her own arrangements to reach Bengaluru.”
The passengers of Paris-Delhi flight, including elderly and toddlers, had to wait for over five to seven hours after the flight could not take off to Delhi by Monday evening as the duty hours of the pilot was over. Though the passengers were given an alternative of reaching Delhi by road, they demanded a flight service to reach Delhi.
