Snoop Dogg didn’t include Eminem in his list of top ten rappers appeared on www.ladbible.com by Rashi Agarwal.
Snoop Dogg once didn’t include Eminem in his top 10 rappers list – which then kickstarted a small fight between them.
Eminem and Snoop Dogg are perhaps some of the most popular and prolific rappers of the 21st century.
However, after being friends for many years, they once found themselves in a brief feud.
The issues reportedly started in 2020, when Snoop made an appearance on The Breakfast Club, with the conversation turning to his friend, Dr. Dre and then to Eminem.
Snoop then went on to state that the ‘Rap God’ rapper wouldn’t be where he is without Dre.
He said: “Eminem, ‘The Great White Hope’. White rappers had zero respect in rap… [Dre] has probably put Eminem in the position where he would be labelled one of the top 10 rappers ever.
“I don’t think so, but the game thinks that he’s a Top 10 lyricist and everything that comes with it.
“That’s just because he’s with Dr. Dre. And Dr Dre helped him find the best Eminem that he could find.”
Explaining his reasoning, Snoop went on to say that there were just some rappers Eminem ‘couldn’t f**k with’, such as Rakim, LL Cool J and Ice Cube, among others.
The lyrics reads: “As far as squashing beef I’m used to people knocking me/But just not in my camp/And diplomatic as I’m tryin’ to be/Last thing I need is Snoop doggin’ me/Man, Dogg, you was like a damn god to me/Meh, not really (haha)/I had dog backwards.”
The 8 Mile star also spoke about the situation on his Shade 45 station, saying: “I think it was more about the tone he was using that caught me off-guard ’cause I’m like, where is this coming from?
“I just saw you; what the f****? It threw me for a loop.
“I probably could’ve gotten past the whole tone and everything, but it was the last statement where he said, ‘Far as music I can live without, I can live without that s***.’ Now you’re being disrespectful.”
He said: “Man, I love Eminem. And the thing is, we love hip hop so much we competitive.
“We battle rappers, so that was supposed to trigger that in him.
“But we brothers, and we family, so we learn to appreciate each other for what we do, and we get down, and we had a long conversation about the respect that we have for each other and the way we need to talk in public about each other.
“And I felt like I was out of pocket. I apologised to him and let him know, and I’m just bettering myself. I make mistakes. I ain’t perfect; I’m Snoop Dogg.”
Thankfully, the pair seem to have gotten over the whole situation, with the duo later taking centre stage at the Superbowl Halftime Show in February 2022.
And, in June 2022, Eminem made the announcement on Twitter that he’d ‘took too long to reconnect’ with Snoop, and that they had released not only a song, but also ‘a movie’ together.
The track, titled ‘From The D 2 LBC’, came accompanied with a music video that showed the rappers occasionally turning into animated monkeys, in reference to their connection to NFT collection ‘Bored Ape’.
Many fans were delighted with the collaboration and described the track as ‘fire’ and ‘amazing’.
