Sony’s Newly-Launched PS5 VRR Support Doesn’t Work On PS4 Titles, In Case You Wondered
Sony rolled out PS5 VRR support this week and already we’ve seen a number of games utilise the feature. However, just in case you were curious, VRR does not work with PS4 games — and some people have already tried it just to see for themselves.
The company previously published a blog post about VRR support stating that it “enhances the visual performance for PS5 games” and “that gameplay in many PS5 titles feels smoother.” As you can see, there’s no mention of PS4; only PS5 is mentioned regarding VRR, so it’s not as if the hardware giant has been ambiguous about the feature.
It may seem obvious, but a lot folk assumed that turning on the unsupported VRR setting makes the feature work for PS4 titles, but this isn’t the case.
