Following Microsoft’s reveal of all the new Xbox Game Pass games that would be arriving in March, it also unveiled the list of games unfortunately leaving to balance out the scales. Well, it turns out that the beloved RPG Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch won’t be among the games leaving Xbox’s subscription in March 2024 after all.

Xbox has revised the list of new Xbox Game Pass games in the official Xbox Wire blog post, stating Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered “will no longer be leaving the Game Pass library on March 15.” While the Xbox Game Pass games leaving in March 2024 are still great in their own right, it’s good news that you’ll still be able to enjoy Ni no Kuni for now.

Unfortunately, the post does not reveal when it will leave the service. Its inclusion and subsequent surprise removal from the list of games leaving Game Pass hints that time is still running out for Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. In other words, it’s a good idea to play through it as soon as you can, just in case it gets removed next month instead.

After all, landing in the high 80s on Metacritic depending on the platform, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered is one of the best RPG games out there. Clocking in at about 50 hours for your average playthrough, however, it will also take you quite some time to finish. With its potential removal from the service looming, it’s best to get started now to avoid cramming it all in when you’re against the clock.

If you’re on the hunt for a new Xbox game boasting a charming yet tragic tale with stunning Studio Ghibli-inspired visuals and action-packed combat, then you’re in luck – Ni no Kuni is just that. In fact, the game’s animations were produced by Studio Ghibli, while the original score was co-composed by Joe Hisaishi, who has worked with Ghibli many times.

This means that the games leaving Xbox Game Pass in March 2024 are down to just Hardspace: Shipbreaker and Shredders, which is arguably outweighed by the strong lineup of new additions. Thankfully, both of these titles are also slightly more manageable if you’re short on time.
