The Success of Virtual Reality Game “Ghosts of Tabor” appeared on fagenwasanni.com by Fagen Wasanni Technologies.

The virtual reality game called “Ghosts of Tabor” is already making millions of dollars in revenue even before its release on the Quest Store. This post-apocalyptic extraction and survival shooter game draws inspiration from popular titles like DayZ, Escape from Tarkov, and Arma.

In the game, players explore expansive landscapes, either alone or with companions, as they search for valuable items and engage in battles against AI-driven and human enemies. They can loot equipment, weapons, ammunition, medical supplies, food, and water, and transport these items to a private underground bunker if they successfully reach the designated extraction site.

The game also includes a crafting mechanism, trading opportunities, and quests that lead to the discovery of exclusive items. Since March 2023, “Ghosts of Tabor” has been available for Early Access on both Steam and the Meta Quest platforms. It has received over 3,000 positive reviews on Steam, highlighting its growing popularity.

Despite not being available on the Quest Store, “Ghosts of Tabor” is currently the most-reviewed game on the Meta Quest platform. The developer, Combat Waffle Studios, reports that the game has already generated $3 million in revenue through Meta Quest’s App Lab alone, not including sales from Steam. The game has also attracted over 100,000 unique VR players across all platforms.

Combat Waffle Studios, owned by a group of United States military veterans, has quickly become a major creative force since its establishment in 2022. The studio is actively working on the game, providing regular updates, and plans to release it in early 2024 on major virtual reality platforms such as the Meta Quest Store, PlayStation VR 2, and Steam. They may also consider launching on additional platforms in the future.

If you’re interested in trying out “Ghosts of Tabor,” you can currently find it on Steam and Meta Quest’s App Lab for $19.99. Check out the Oculus Developer Blog for an interview with Combat Waffle Studios’ CEO, COO, and Head of Publishing to learn more about their work.
