VCK Club to celebrate namesake; Roger Clinton to speak appeared on www.hotsr.com by The Sentinel Record.
The VCK Democratic Women of Hot Springs will feature a celebration of the life and legacy of the group’s namesake, Virginia Clinton Kelley, the mother of former President Bill Clinton, during its monthly meeting Tuesday, Jan. 24, at The Central Theatre, 1008 Central Ave.
Roger Clinton, Kelley’s son and President Clinton’s half brother, will be the guest speaker and “provide personal anecdotes followed by time for questions and answers,” a news release said.
A slideshow will run during social time at the meeting starting at 5:30 p.m. followed by Clinton speaking at 6 p.m. Light snacks will be served and beverages will be available for purchase.
The mission of VCK, which held its first meeting on Oct. 24, 1994, is to “support and encourage Democratic and progressive women seeking & holding elected office. We strive to seek justice in our community of Hot Springs/Garland County and beyond,” according to its website.
