A Washington church shouldn’t be given a chance to revive a lawsuit challenging a state law that requires employee health plans to pay for abortion services in some circumstances, state officials told a federal appeals court.
Cedar Park Assembly of God of Kirkland, in the Seattle area, lacks standing to challenge Washington’s health insurance parity law because it didn’t show that it had been harmed by the provision, state officials said in a brief filed Monday in the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
