Watch: Carl Mullan Leaves Listeners In Stitches With Bank Holiday Adele Parody appeared on extra.ie by Extra.ie.

Carl Mullan has lift his 2FM listeners in stitches after writing an Adele parody about the ongoing wet weather.

The country have been washed out over the past month, with July being the wettest month on record. Unfortunately, it’s not expected to lighten up any time soon, with the August bank holiday kicking off with a yellow weather warning for wind and rain for most of the country on Friday.

Taking to the 2FM morning radio show alongside Doireann Garrihy and Donncha O’Callaghan, Carl joked that people shouldn’t be fooled if they wake up one morning to see that it’s dry outside.

‘Don’t be fooled by the fact that you woke up this morning [and thought] “oh, hang on it’s dry! It looks okay!” Watch out for the weather forecast on the bank holiday weather forecast — it’s appalling and we’re sick of it. This is for you, Mother Nature.’

Carl then proceeded to break out into a parody of Adele‘s hit Set Fire to the Rain, with him including such lyrics as ‘it p*sses rain from September through to March,’ before breaking out in to the chorus, where he sings ‘So sick and tired of the rain,’ while Donncha and Doireann cheer him on.

Carl’s parody and his co-hosts reactions left their followers in stitches, with one person commenting that it was ‘better than Adele.’ Another commented that Carl should be Ireland’s Eurovision entry for next year, with another loving Donncha’s dance moves, joking ‘Sooo funny Carl…..but I have to say Donners reactions/dances are just priceless.’

Carl’s parody didn’t really work with the weather gods. Met Éireann has put most of the country under a yellow warning for rain and wind, as the August Bank Holiday kicks off with another washout.

Despite things perhaps looking up when it comes to the temperature in the coming weeks, those hoping for even a semblance of a break in the weather for All Together Now, Indiependence and the Galway Races may need to pack those umbrellas and ponchos as we’re set for another wet weekend.

The entire province of Connacht, and counties Clare and Tipperary have been hit with a status yellow rain warning from 8pm on Friday night until 8am on Saturday morning, with possible impacts including spot flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.

The entirety of Leinster, Monaghan and Cavan have been hit with a yellow rain warning which will come into effect from 11pm on Friday night until 10am Saturday morning.

Looking at the weather forecast itself for this weekend, Met Éireann have said that we’ll see ‘a rather mixed August Bank Holiday Weekend, with further persistent rain coming through on Monday.
