Magic Johnson recently witnessed a clutch victory in his post-basketball career. The iconic figure of the Los Angeles Lakers secured an ownership agreement to acquire the NFL’s Washington Commanders from Dan Snyder. In the process, he competed with billionaires like Jeff Bezos. Despite Johnson’s proposed sum resting low on Jeff’s, he somehow managed to seal the deal. Johnson now adds another team to his already stacked bags of team ownership. The 63-year-old legend already has ownership stakes in the Los Angeles Dodgers of MLB, the Los Angeles FC from MLS, and the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA.

Shaquille O’Neal was once afraid of bidding against Jeff Bezos

The most dominant NBA player found the prospect of competing against Jeff Bezos understandably daunting. The Hall of Famer revealed that Bezos’ immense wealth was the factor that dissuaded him from pursuing ownership of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns. Speaking to TMZ Sports, O’Neal emphasized, “Nobody on this planet can compete with Big Man JB,” using the moniker for Bezos. He then joked, “Because you know what? I just ordered 50 things off Amazon today. Big Man JB got that money coming in.”
