GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Jewish congregations around West Michigan gathered Sunday night, holding vigils to support Israel, and each other, after the attack Hamas militants launched on Israel Saturday.
Temple Emanuel in Grand Rapids, filling the room with songs, scripture, and speeches from the congregation.
“When Jewish are murdered, we’re all touched by it. We might not know individuals on a close basis, but we’re part of the same Mishpocha, the same family and so we’re all overwhelmed, we’re all touched by the grief,” Rabbi Michael Schadick said at the Temple Emanuel Grand Rapids.
Those who attended also talked about the emotions they’re feeling right now.
