For players who’d like to know more about the new Hero Illari, who will be arriving in Overwatch 2 Season 6, here’s everything we know about them, including what leaks have revealed.
Overwatch 2 Illari release date & details
Illari is the brand-new Hero coming to Overwatch 2 in Season 6 of the title, which lands on August 10, 2023. The new Overwatch 2: Invasion trailer has shown that she’s a Support hero of Peruvian origin, armed with a giant solar-powered railgun that can seemingly heal her teammates.

We expect the Hero to be available for players through the Battle Pass for Season 6 as soon as the update drops. However, we’ll provide an update once that is officially confirmed.

Illari’s character seems to be inspired by Inti, the Sun God from Inca mythology.
Overwatch 2 Illari abilities
We don’t yet have any confirmation regarding Illari’s abilities, but some of them could be seen in action in the latest Overwatch 2: Invasion trailer. There have also been some leaks, but many believe these to be completely false.
The Overwatch 2: Invasion launch trailer has shown Illari carrying a giant gun that seems to function as Baptiste’s Biotic Launcher, and can be used to take down characters like Pharah even when ‘ulting’ from afar.

The trailer has also shown that she can heal her teammates with a turret similar to Symmetra’s, although we see her only being able to summon one at a time.
Overwatch 2’s new Support character can also be seen using her ultimate ability, called Captive Sun. This skill seems to let her rise to the air as she launches a solar-powered bomb that deals huge area-of-effect damage to their enemies below.
As soon as Blizzard releases an official confirmation of Illari’s abilities, we’ll be sure to update this piece, so stay tuned.
