WHPH podcast: Hannah Stark episode appeared on www.marshallindependent.com by marshallindependent.com.
This week, I had the 20th episode of my podcast “Work Hard, Play Harder” with Minneota Vikings volleyball head coach Hayley Fruin. This week, I am dropping the 21st episode of my podcast with high school athlete Hannah Stark.
Stark is a senior attending Yellow Medicine East Sting and is a three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and softball. Stark signed her letter of intent to play basketball at Briarcliff University earlier this year. She is recently coming off scoring a career-high 30 points in a win over the ACGC Falcons Tuesday evening.
This is an episode that was enlightening and fun to talk to someone who is passionate about sports and family, definitely a don’t miss.
The podcast is called “Work Hard, Play Harder” because that’s how I like to live my life. It is about finding out your “why” and getting to know you beyond the occupation. The podcast is informative about what you do but also asks fun questions as well. Building connections and being able to be relatable is an important aspect of my podcast as well.
In this podcast episode, Stark talked about her why into playing sports and why her father and grandfather are her biggest role models in life.
We also talked about her sister, Hope Stark, and how fun it is playing with her in the games. Hannah Stark also answered some fun questions including her pump-up song before ballgames, “Remember the Name” by Fort Minor.
We also talked about the importance of her coaches in her life. Hannah Stark has been coached by Jennifer Sneller (Softball), Alexis Peters (Volleyball) and Ryan Schultz (Basketball)
“I have been playing with Jen since the eighth grade,” Hannah Stark said. Jen has made a huge difference in my career. She is a mentally sound coach. She advocates believing in yourself and your team. Coach Schultz has taught me to persevere through the season because basketball season is long. He is always pushing us. I notice his heart and passion for the game. Alexis has been coaching me since I was little and she is definitely the closest out of the coaches on a friend level. She, too, has a lot of passion for the sport of volleyball, and I really appreciate that.”
Hannah Stark also talked about some fun interesting facts about herself. She stated that lacrosse is not one of her best sports to play, which I can relate to myself. Also, how we both have gone to Eric Church’s concert and both shows went longer than expected.
Hannah Stark completed her final season of volleyball and is in the middle of her final basketball season at Yellow Medicine East Sting High School. She is a vibrant personality who loves sports with a passion and bringing family and friends together. Come out and support Hannah Start and the YME Sting basketball team for the rest of the season. click below to listen to the entire podcast.
