Why No Children Are Born In The Vatican City – News18 appeared on www.news18.com by Buzz Staff.

Vatican Palace is the residence of the pope within the city walls.
The children are sometimes the result of affairs involving priests and laywomen or nuns — others of abuse or rape.
The world population has continued to grow at an alarming rate, and according to UN population estimates, India has overtaken China as the world’s most populous country. However, there is a unique exception to this trend – a country where no children are born. This question was raised on Quora, and the answer is Vatican City.
Parenthood is strictly prohibited in Vatican City, a rule deeply rooted in the religious beliefs of its majority population of priests. Vatican City lacks a hospital to care for newborns, as its residents are predominantly priests forbidden from marrying or becoming parents. While the vow of celibacy is typically upheld, there have been exceptions where priests have broken this vow, resulting in the birth of children.
Some of these children are born as a result of affairs involving priests and laywomen or nuns, while others are the tragic consequences of abuse or rape. Despite some high-profile cases, the majority remain out of the public eye.
Vatican City is also renowned for housing the Vatican Palace, which serves as the residence of the Pope within the city walls. The Holy See represents the government of the Roman Catholic Church, led by the Pope as the Bishop of Rome. In addition to the prohibition on parenthood, there are specific dress codes in place for both men and women, including a ban on mini skirts, shorts, and sleeveless dresses. Citizenship is granted only to those who work within the city. Most of the women living in Vatican City are wives of teachers, journalists, or other employees, and they do not spend their entire lives there. In this tiny nation, housing around 800 people, only 30 are women.
The security of the Vatican Pope and his palace consists of approximately 130 individuals recruited from the Swiss Army, all under 30 years of age. Vatican City lacks public transportation, with only a 300-meter-long railway track used for transporting goods. This country covers an area of 49 square kilometres, and its citizens have limited facilities, including passports and licenses. Many modern amenities are conspicuously absent from this unique city-state.
